Art Camp - Week #2

Once again, we had a fabulous group of artists join us at art camp. We learned about Claude Monet, Eric Carle, Mary Cassatt and Andy Warhol and tried their techniques. Our campers are ready for the Olympics with their homemade American flags and will go back to school with their decoupaged clipboards. But once again, the campers favorite part of camp was sewing (and who can blame them?!) They went home toting their house pillows and wearing their summer bucket hats. Thank you Anika, Kate, Kyndall, Grace, Hollie, Natalie, Cora, Lucie, Bella, Evie, Ellie, Michaela, Caroline, Drew, Alyssa, Lea, Kathryn, Claire, Isabella and Lilly. We had a great time!

Many campers, much decoupage and a bit of sewing made for a great first week of mary jane lane art camp at the Lodge. We had a great time with our campers and they created some beautiful masterpieces. Thank you Nina, Joe, Grace A, Maggie, Emmie, Caroline, Carly, Lyla, Brigid, Blake, Gracie N., Izzy, Morgan, Grace M, Erika, Zoe, Naomi, and Clara. We had a great time!

Calling all Art Campers!

As we sit here buried in snow, let us turn our faces to the sun and think.....Art Camp!! Our second year of mary jane lane art camp has a new location - the Lodge in Des Peres! More space, more campers, more fun! Two one-week sessions will be held, June 16-20 and July 28-August 1. Campers should be between ages 5-9 at the time of camp. We will make two crafts daily and learn about a Master Painter during story time. Crafts will be in all mediums including paint, paper and fabric. The cost is $100 for Lodge members, $105 for non-member Des Peres residents and $120 for non-member/non-residents. A $25 supply fee will also apply. Registration is through the Lodge, in person at the front desk or by calling 835-6150. Can't wait to see our campers with their sun-kissed skin. Bring on summer!

Silhouettes of your sweeties

Order now to capture your little sweeties' silhouettes for Valentine's Day! So easy to do - just e-mail us a profile snapshot of your child standing in front of a light background. Then choose a white, ivory or navy mat color and a silhouette color (hot pink, chambray, navy, lime green, orange, chocolate or classic black) and we will return to you a 16 x20 unframed silhouette. We can cut any hairstyle (ponytail, bow, classic boy cut and even baby hair). Personally hand-cut by either Julie or Suzanne, silhouettes are $60 (shipping is $10) and take two weeks to receive- that's a February 1st deadline for Valentine's Day delivery. Orders placed too late for Valentine's Day will receive a special note from mary jane lane to inform the recepient of the personalized gift in progress.

Happy 2008! Doesn't it seem like we were just celebrating the new Millenium? Like most people, we at mary jane lane are spending January cleaning up from Christmas and organizing for the new year.
